Steady Ground offers general information to help you explore careers and ways to earn and save. It isn't professional financial, legal, tax or career advice for your situation. The quiz gives suggestions based on your answers. It can't know everything about you, so use it as a starting point, not a decision.

No promises about jobs or income

We can't promise that you'll be hired, licensed or earn a certain amount. Pay figures are national medians from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and include experienced workers. Your pay will depend on where you live, your employer, your experience and the economy. Costs and timelines are our estimates.

Check the rules yourself

Licensing and training rules are set by each state and change often. We work to keep them accurate and link to official sources, but always confirm with your state's licensing agency before you pay for a course or exam.

We link to schools, employers, apps and banks that we don't own or control.
